What training options am I able to purchase on the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) at Work online store?

  • MHFA at Work Intro.

  • MHFA at Work Foundations Bundle includes MHFA at Work Intro and MHFA at Work Certification. 

What is the MHFA at Work Foundations Bundle?

The MHFA at Work Foundations Bundle consists of two courses: 

  1. MHFA at Work Intro — Self-paced, online course. Learn the basics of workplace wellbeing, including how to recognize and reduce stigma, spot early signs of mental health and substance use challenges, build resilience and use simple self-care strategies. 

  2. MHFA at Work Certification — Instructor-led training offered monthly for up to 30 learners. In this expert-led training, you’ll practice how to help coworkers using a clear action plan, guided role plays and realistic workplace scenarios. You’ll leave as a certified Mental Health First Aider with skills that improve communication, reduce stress and make your workday more manageable. 

What do I need to know about participating in a live, Instructor-led MHFA at Work Certification training 

Every learner needs to complete the MHFA at Work Intro course before they take their MHFA at Work Certification training.  

MHFA at Work Certification is available as a virtual training on Zoom.  

Your active participation – having your camera on and engaging in the chat and discussions – ensures a successful learning experience. 

Does the learner have to complete the two Foundation Bundle Courses in a specific order? 

Every learner should take the courses in the following order: 

  1. MHFA at Work Intro — Self-paced course 
  2. MHFA at Work Certification — Instructor-led course 

MHFA Connect at Work will guide the learner through the sequence of courses. 

What is MHFA Connect at Work? 

MHFA Connect at Work is the National Council’s learning management system. Learners must create an account to access all of our learning materials, including the Zoom link for the live MHFA at Work Certification training.  

What are the minimum and maximum number of MHFA at Work Foundation Bundle Seats an individual or organization can purchase via the store? 

The minimum purchase is one seat and the maximum purchase is ten seats per check out. Each purchase guarantees learners access to their self-paced Intro course and a seat in an upcoming live Certification training. Learners will choose the date of their training after purchase. 

How do I purchase the MHFA at Work courses for more than 10 learners or other Instructor-led training (Certification, Champion, Transform)? 

Please contact MHFACDM@TheNationalCouncil.org with subject line At Work Certification Private Course. You’ll receive an email with a link to schedule a call shortly after submission. If you do not schedule a call at that time, a Client Development Specialist will follow up directly to assist. 

What payment options are available in the MHFA at Work Store? 

All major credit cards are accepted. All purchases are final.

What happens after I complete a purchase? 

  1. Within one business day of completing your purchase, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions for registering your learners for an upcoming MHFA at Work Certification training (offered monthly). You will need to register each learner separately.  
  2.  MHFA at Work Connect invitation email will be sent two weeks before your selected MHFA at Work Certification training date. Once they accept the invite, the learners will receive a course enrollment email. Learners should begin the MHFA at Work Intro course as soon as possible: They will have two weeks to complete MHFA at Work Intro. 
  3. Learners will receive a reminder email prior to their selected MHFA at Work Certification training date.  
  4. On the training date, learners attend the Instructor- led Certification using the Zoom link provided in MHFA Connect at Work. 

Note: Once a learner has been enrolled in an upcoming training, you cannot transfer their seat to another learner. 

    What happens if I do not receive a confirmation email with next steps after I make my purchase? 

    Please make sure you are enrolled to receive marketing emails. If you don't receive our emails, please reach out to MHFADirectSupport@TheNationalCouncil.org with subject line At Work Certification Public Seats. 

    How do learners prepare for the training?  

    Once you register your learner, they will receive instructions via email from MHFADirectSupport@TheNationalCouncil.org and notifications@learnupon.com.  

    What happens if the learner is unable to join the training and needs to reschedule? 

    Please return to the registration link provided in your post-purchase email to select a new training date. Please note that once the learner has started the Intro course, it will not transfer to the new training date selected. They would need to complete Intro again.  

    Rescheduling/Cancellation Policy: Any scheduling change less than 30 days from the training is considered a cancellation. You will be invoiced for 50% of the seat price. 

    National Council reserves the right to cancel any training if less than 7 learners register for the training. MHFA will notify all learners registered for this class in advance and ask them to select a new training date.  

    Refunds may be provided on a case-by-case basis (e.g., medical emergencies, no longer with organization, personal emergency). Please email MHFADirectSupport@TheNationalCouncil.org with your name, training date, reason and subject line: At Work Certification Public Seats. 

    If you are unable to join the training because of technical difficulties, email MHFADirectSupport@TheNationalCouncil.org with your name, training date and an explanation of what you’re experiencing so we may assist you.     What happens if the learner does not complete the Intro training prior to the Instructor-led Certification training? 

    It is highly recommended that learners complete the Intro course prior to their Certification course. The Certification training will cover topics introduced in the Intro course. However, learners will still be able to join the Certification training and have time to complete this after the training. Intro is a prerequisite for Certification training. 

    Can I add co-branding and employee assistance program (EAP) resources to my course if I purchase seats online?

    How long do the learners have to complete the training? 

    Seats expire one year after purchase. Please ensure your learners enroll and complete their courses before the expiration date. We do not offer refunds for incomplete courses.  

    Is learner reporting included?

    Can an individual purchase the MHFA at Work Foundations Bundle themselves, or does their organization have to purchase the training on their behalf?    

    Individuals can purchase a MHFA at Work Intro or at Work Foundation Bundle course here. However, these workplace-focused courses differ from our 8-hour community MHFA Certification courses.

    We do not provide hard-copy materials.
